We are launching our new international project – Safebook Horizons!

Safebook Horizons expands youth safety culture from Europe to Sub-Saharan Africa. What began as a manual is now becoming a movement.

Led by KOM 018 (Serbia), in partnership with Beyond Borders Italy (Italy), Youth European Society – YES (Bulgaria), Social Development Hub – SDH (Cabo Verde), CUFA – Central Única das Favelas SA (South Africa) and SIWoC (Tanzania), the project will empower youth workers and young people in six countries across two continents through innovative non-formal tools focused on youth safety.

Key objectives:

  • Develop a new edition of the Safebook manual tailored to Sub-Saharan African youth work

  • Train youth workers in five core safety areas:
    • peer violence
    • cyberbullying
    • discrimination
    • psychoactive substance abuse
    • reproductive health

  • Use concept photography and graphic design as tools for safety education

  • Build a strong network of youth safety advocates across Europe and Africa

  • Raise awareness and inspire positive change in local communities

The project will run from November 2025 to April 2028 in Bulgaria, Cabo Verde, Italy, Serbia, South Africa and Tanzania, and is co-funded by the European Union.

Safety is a right — and a culture we build together.
